Welcome to our detailed guide on the 2024-25 Skilled Visa Nomination Program for South Australia. If you're a skilled migrant looking for new opportunities, South Australia offers an exciting place to live and work. In this blog, we’ll explore the various streams available under this program, the eligibility requirements, and how you can take the next step in your career while enjoying a better lifestyle in South Australia.
Overview of the South Australia Skilled Visa Nomination Program
South Australia is dedicated to building a diverse and skilled workforce, essential for the state's economic growth, particularly in its regional communities. This year, the Australian Government has allocated 3,000 places for the Subclass 190 visa and 800 places for the Subclass 491 visa specifically for South Australia.
The General Skilled Migration program is key to this objective, helping South Australian businesses meet their skilled workforce needs. This program prioritizes international graduates, attracts experienced overseas skilled workers, and provides incentives for skilled migrants to settle in regional South Australia.
The South Australian Government assesses your application for state nomination, and the Department of Home Affairs assesses your visa application. Before meeting the criteria for South Australia’s government, you will first need to meet the criteria set by the Department of Home Affairs.
Home Affairs criteria require you to:
Have a points-test result of 65 or higher, inclusive of state nomination points;
Have a positive skills assessment in your nominated occupation;
Be under 45 years of age;
Meet the minimum English language requirement of competent, unless a higher level is required by your assessing authority.
