Migration Queensland has 4 Nomination streams:
Skilled workers Living in Queensland
Graduates of Queensland University
Skilled workers Living offshore
Small Business owners operating in Queensland.
We will cover the first three streams and make a separate video for the Small Business owner stream.
To be eligible for a Queensland nomination, you must meet the Australian Department of Home Affairs and Migration Queensland criteria for your chosen visa category.
The Home Affairs criteria require you to:
have a points-test result of 65 or higher, inclusive of state nomination points;
have a positive skills assessment in your nominated occupation;
be under 45 years of age;
meet the minimum English language requirement of Competent, unless a higher level is required by your assessing authority.
Skilled workers living in Queensland
Migration Queensland criteria for 190 nominations requires you to:
Have a points test result of 75 or higher (except for Trades occupations*, which require 70 or higher).
Have an occupation on the Home Affairs relevant list of eligible skilled occupations (LIN19/051)
Have Competent English or higher (except for occupations where a higher level of English is required**)
Must provide evidence that you have been living in Queensland and undertaking full-time post-qualification employment (minimum of 30 hours per week) in your nominated or closely related occupation for three months immediately before EOI lodgement. It would help if you were still employed in your nominated or closely related occupation when your EOI is assessed.
Must provide evidence that you have ongoing full-time (minimum of 30 hours per week) employment for a further twelve months at the time of EOI lodgement in your nominated occupation
Must commit to living and working in Queensland for two years from the visa grant date.
The 491criteria for Skilled workers living in Queensland requires you to:
Have a points test result of 65 or higher.
Have an occupation on Home Affairs relevant list of eligible skilled occupations (LIN19/051)
Have Competent English or higher (except for occupations where a higher level of English is required**)
Must provide evidence that you are living and working in Regional Queensland and have full-time post-qualification employment (minimum of 30 hours per week) in your nominated or closely related occupation at the time of your EOI lodgement. You must still be employed in your nominated or closely related occupation when your EOI is assessed.
Must provide evidence that you have ongoing full-time (minimum of 30 hours per week) employment in Regional Queensland for a further six months at the time of EOI lodgement in your nominated occupation.
Must commit to living and working in regional Queensland for three years from the visa grant date.
Caveats for selected occupations
Accountants (General)Only applicants employed in an accounting firm or a medium or larger-sized business will receive an invitation. For this purpose, a medium-sized business is characterized as a business that employs 20 people or more.Must be a CPA, CA, or IPA or are studying towards becoming a CPA, CA, or IPA.
Internal and External AuditorsMust have a job as an Auditor (not an Accountant).
Cooks and ChefsNo takeaway or fast-food businesses.
Graduates of Queensland University.
Eligibility criteria common to all graduate pathways:
Have a points test result of 75 or higher for the 190 visa pathway (inclusive of state nomination points).
Have a points test result of 65 points or higher for the 491 visa pathway (inclusive of state nomination points).
Have Competent English
Living in Queensland, with an occupation on LIN19/051 for the 190 visa pathway
Living in regional Queensland, with an occupation on LIN19/051 for the 491 visa pathway
Completed 100% of studies in Queensland
Graduated in the last two years.
Additional eligibility criteria specific to each graduate pathway
Ph.D. or Doctorate Graduates (190 and 491): To be eligible under this graduate pathway, you must
Have had a positive decision on the thesis
A job or job offer is not required for this pathway
Masters Graduates in STEM or Agriculture fields
(190 and 491) To be eligible under this graduate pathway, you will need to be
Employed full-time (minimum 30 hours per week) in nominated occupation (or ANZSCO Skill Level 1 occupation*)
STEM and Agriculture fields are listed on Migration Queensland’s website.
Masters Graduates - not in STEM or Agriculture fields. To be eligible under this graduate pathway, you will need
GPA 6.0 or above for the 190 visa pathway
GPA 5.0 or above for the 491 visa pathway
Must be Employed full-time (minimum of 30 hours per week) in nominated occupation (or ANZSCO Skill Level 1 occupation*)
Bachelor Graduates (190 and 491): To be eligible under this graduate pathway, you will need
GPA 6.0 or above for the 190 visa pathway
GPA 5.0 or above for the 491 visa pathway
Must be Employed full-time (minimum of 30 hours per week) in nominated occupation (or ANZSCO Skill Level 1 occupation*)
Caveats for selected occupations
Accountants (General):.

There is only one caveat as compared to the two caveats we have for skilled workers living in Queensland.

Migration Queensland criteria requires you to:
Have a points test result of 75 or higher (except for Trades occupations*, which require 70 or higher) for a Skilled Nominated (Permanent) visa (subclass 190)
Have a points test result of 65 or higher for a Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491).
Have an occupation on the Queensland Skilled Occupation List (QSOL) eligible for the visa pathway you are applying for.
Have Competent English or higher (except where a higher level of English is required**)
Must provide evidence of the required years of post-study work experience as per the QSOL.
Please note: You must be employed in your nominated occupation when you are invited.
Must commit to living and working in Queensland for two years from the date of arrival for a 190 visa nomination.
Must commit to living and working in Regional Queensland for three years from arrival for a 491 visa nomination.
